Wedding Flowers

KaBloom of Cedar Rapids has what it takes to do an excellent job of providing flowers for your wedding. We have a huge selection of high quality fresh flowers. We have the fresh ideas and we have the expertise to do an exceptional job. Most importantly, we are committed to making certain that everything is perfect. For us, every wedding is very important. Every wedding is personally attended to by one or both of the owners of our store.

We are a relatively new flower shop. However, Nancy (owner and senior designer) has many years of experience in the flower industry prior to when we opened this flower shop.

You may have some questions about wedding flowers. This page will provide you guidance on some of your questions.

When should I order flowers?

You might say "the sooner the better". At KaBloom we will not accept more weddings than we can adequately handle on a particular day and you will want to reserve your day as early as possible. However, it is better to have a few other issues resolved before ordering flowers. You should have a general idea about your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. Ideally, you should also know where the wedding and the reception will be. We will be better able to talk about flowers after you know this information.

What is the procedure?

You should schedule an appointment for a bridal consultation. We will talk about your vision for your wedding and discuss all of your flower needs. We will be listening to you and we will also be offering suggestions in response to your expressed desires. Then, within a few days, we will send you a written proposal regarding what flowers we would provide and what the price would be. You can reserve your date and receive a commitment regarding pricing by making the requested deposit.

What will it cost?

There is no way to answer that prior to the bridal consultation. Each wedding is custom designed to best fit the desires of the wedding party. KaBloom offers no “package weddings”. However, when you receive your proposal you will see the cost of each individual item. You will have the option of adding, deleting items, or changing items and you will know how that will impact the costs. You will find that our prices are very reasonable when compared to other high quality flower shops.

Can I change my order?

Of course! It happens all the time. However, if you make any change within two weeks of the wedding date we may not be able to honor that request due to problems with getting the required flowers.

How good is the price commitment?

Flower prices change all the time due to weather and/or other problems with supply. If, between the time you order your flowers and the time of your wedding there is normal fluctuation with flower prices, we will honor the agreed to price. However, if there is a significant change in price or availability, we may have to revise our price quote and/or suggest some alternative flowers. We will only raise the price in direct response to a significant increase in our wholesale costs. To date, we have never had to revise our pricing, but that possibility remains.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver virtually anywhere within 25 miles of our store for our standard delivery and setup charges. That includes the entire greater Cedar Rapids area including Mount Vernon, Anamosa, Central City, Center Point, Coggon, Shellsburg, Atkins, Newhall, Fairfax, Solon, and North Liberty. We will deliver beyond this range for a reasonable additional delivery charge.
